Shiny and New!

There’s a shiny and new issue at Paper Issues!  No, I mean… the issue is Shiny and New… Oh, come on!

The issue is called Shiny and New for a new year… we want to see sparkle, shiny, new whatever that means 500to you.  For me, it meant scrapping Lily’s first experience playing in the snow.  It was all new to her but she looked like it was totally no big deal.  And there’s a tiny bit of shiny on this, too, with the drops of silver Color 500Shine.

Oh!  AND this is a fabulous NEW collection from Fancy Pants Designs.  Technically its a valentine collection but I was digging the colors for this and made it work.

We’ve also got a great sketch for this issue… I clearly used the heck out of it!

PaperHaus: Winter 2013

winterfrolic

Have you seen the newest issue of PaperHaus magazine yet?  Just when I think these magazines can’t get any more gorgeous the next one comes out and blows me away all over again.  You can see projects from me on pages 39, 75, and 104.

This week we are celebrating the winter release with our Winter Frolic blog hop event.  Head over to the PaperHaus blog to start today’s small hop or to participate in the rest of the days.

One of the most common holiday gifts every year is a calendar for the new year.  Those pop up calendar kiosks at the mall are proof of that!  But I prefer to make my own.  This small pocket calendar for 2014 was created from the gorgeous Timbergrove collection from Fancy Pants Designs.  I love that the 4x6 brag pad from this line has all the month pages in it!  Super convenient! I kept the page embellishment to a minimum so it lays flat enough to keep in a purse.

Thanks for joining us today for the Winter Frolic blog hop!  Your next stop is the fabulous Paper Issues blog!

Paper Pinecones

Did you know that Pink Paislee has a brand new exclusive paper collection pad at Michael’s stores right now called Noel?  Yep.  Pretty awesome.  It also happens to coordinate pretty well with a lot of the gorgeous Snow Village line.

I crafted up these simple paper pinecones using paper from the Noel collection, a styrofoam egg, and a whole heck of a lot of tiny pins.

A Hybrid Halloween

Halloween is my favorite holiday and I like any excuse to dress up my little cuties in costumes or other holiday appropriate clothes.  Naturally Lily needed a spooky little shirt this year!

I mean, really.  There’s no way you can resist that face!

AND I whipped up this hybrid frame from another digi file that I printed directly onto muslin.

You can see step by step instructions on how to make both of these projects on the Pink Paislee blog!

Have a Happy Halloween!

Breaking all the Project Life Rules

My latest assignment for Fancy Pants Designs was not only a two –pager (which I struggle with) but a Project Life spread.  Now, I fully appreciate the gorgeous things I see coming out of Project Life.  But it’s just not for me and I had never even attempted it.  It’s tough for a gal who loves layers!

So what was I to do?  I pretty much just found a way to break the “rules” and make it my own.

I didn’t even use divided page protectors on this ::gasp::!

You can read all about how I adapted Project Life to fit my scrapping style and see the details of my page at the Fancy Pants Designs blog!

Fall Treat Tin Set

Last week the gals at Pink Paislee ushered in fall with projects featuring autumn hues.  My contribution was this fun treat tin set that uses a paint can from the hardware store.

I used tons of the Hey Kid line on this… see? Not just for kid stuff!  I cut the leaves with my Cameo and used lots of yellow, red, and orange.

I made a matching card to go with this gift, which would be perfect to send some fall treats or even filled with foliage for people who don’t get to see the leaves change.

Thanks for taking a look today and have an awesome fall… it’s my favorite!

Everything Nice

The ladies over at UmWowStudio have teamed up with 7 Dots Studio this month to bring you some awesome mash-ups of paper collections with chipboard and flair.

Check out my page made with the Messy Head collection!

I love the soft, romantic look of this paper line and it coordinated perfectly with the Our Princess flair and lots of chip goodness.

The “Love This” Polaroid is super awesome covered in crackle paint and layered under my photo.  And I misted the floral piece and circle confetti with Blush Heidi Swapp Color Shine… love that color!

I also added a smattering of red bubbles using the circle confetti mask. And of course a cluster in the upper left corner for balance.

I’ve obviously been a little obsessed with Fancy Pants Design’s Happy Go Lucky collection lately.  I think it perfectly straddles that line between summer and fall, which is pretty much where the New England weather is right now.  I whipped up this little home décor piece from a 7Gypsys shadow box insert:

PH Fall 2013

I don’t know about you but fall always makes me want to bake! It’s absolutely my favorite time of year and here in New England the temps just dropped enough to tease me with a taste of autumn.  That’s all the excuse I needed to bake up some cookies and package them up all pretty-like.

Fall Treat Basket_Fancy Pants Designs_Jess Mutty

I used the Happy Go Lucky collection from Fancy Pants Designs on this.  It has so many adorable embellishments! The cute wood berry basket is from The Curtsey Boutique and the ribbon is May Arts.

The underside of the cookie bag is closed with one more little hidden embellishment.
